Right Now,
you are the most gorgeous thing I've ever seen,
a head coated in sunshine
full of thoughts that will amaze
and blooming to those skyline eyes
a smile to set my heart ablaze
You are
Beautiful
in a dramatic and eye-catching way—
Spectacular
I Adore—
—your nose,
how it slopes like a ski piste
and whistles while you sleep
and in such a world of inconsistencies
I cherish these sweet dusks and dawns
where I can roll over to face your yawns
and boop your button nose like I so often do
I love every second of my time with you,
but that makes me love it all the more
—your smile
how it lights up an entire scene
and ignites this heart inside of me
with lines that have carved into your cheeks
from your immense capacity
to care so deeply
over these years
showing how truly rare someone like you really is
—your eyes
the way they dance and glisten like my own,
reflecting back my stinging love lust for you
like a mirror of divinity
and as you get lost in this soul of mine
know that I am in the midst
of pouring all my devotion
into every crevice and piece
that is within the concept of ‘we’
I love you,
fully
in the most magnificent of ways
to love someone,
that is how I love you
the truth rings loud in my ears,
my fingers tremble in telling you that
I want to be with you
tomorrow,
and the next day,
and the next day
until there are no more days unaccounted for
that don't have you filling in the
gray areas and empty cracks
with your catalytic color and ability to make me smile
I was a true love cynicist,
a philophobic philanthropist
who refuted the idea that love exists,
but you,
You Feel Right.
You're So Lovely.
I think about you all the time;
I’ve got it terribly bad for you
and everyone knows it--
I'm just so taken by you,
I’d lose myself within your serendipitous soul
any day of the week
and if I lost you,
I’d never really lose you,
because you hold a piece of me
others could only dream
of getting a glimpse of
There are claims that say
in that bold italicized ink
He Made Affection Feel Simple
I could never wrap my head around such
Particular Passion Propaganda
as no such proclivity
had ever been revealed to me
but You
have rounded edges and soft curves
You
have a silky touch and a soothing sound
You
have eyes that reflect right back at mine
and for once
I feel the full weight and value
of inhaling someone else's breath
you’re perfect,
a statement which you argue
so I revise—
you're perfect to me,
This is not a cherried statement
in sugaring cursive made to appease.
Believe me when I say
that no one quite compares to you,
I cannot overlook your kindness
or take you for granted
I refuse,
there is nobody else
Only You
No,
there was never such a perfect pair
of such befitting size
as you and I
“you’re perfect,” you believe
a statement which I deny
so you revise—
“you're perfect to me.”
I'm just really grateful that
you're you,
that I've met you,
and that of all the different courses
this is the one our reality has given us.
You say
we are the fan favorites of this sitcom show
we claim as our own
the dream team, starry-eyed, through the ages lovers
who the crowd roots for on and on
with each passing smile
and every shared kiss
they play their cheesy sentimental track,
the ‘will they, won't they lock it down’
the terrible agony of ‘will they make it work?’
and the answer will beg to remain yes
because we will make it so.
